Gabicce Mare is located on the Adriatic sea, 20 km south of Rimini and 250 km from Venice. Stay at the Grand Hotel Michelacci, a 4 Star Superior Hotel, with spa, swimming pools, whirlpool etc. In addition to the 3 multi-course meals offered daily at the hotel, enjoy many other food-and-wine testings, and festivities with live music.
The International Bicycle Tour by the Sea has been held in Gabicce Mare since 1981, establishing it as one of Italy's most important tourist events for cyclists.
The event is also a fixture on the calendar of the International Bicycling Union. Close to one thousand riders take part, accompanied by family members and friends. The participants, hailing from all parts of Europe and North America, meet each year to ride together on the area's most charming roads, passing through picturesque towns and villages of the inland portion of the Marche and Romagna zones. The event gets underway with an organized welcome in the evening, and it concludes with the presentation of awards to the individual cycle-touring associations.

This is the secret behind the long-lasting success of this event, for which participants from Italy and abroad gather in Gabicce Mare for an Easter holiday that lasts 10 days.
7 beautiful routes run through the marvellous countryside of the Marches offer breath-takingly beautiful tours, where adventurers on bike can discover new country roads, castles, medieval dwellings in distant valleys, history, art and culture plus - why not? - many culinary delicacies!
Specialities such as pasta with chickpeas, tagliatelle, roasted porchetta, bread, piadina-flatbread, exquisite raw ham, homemade sweets, red and white wine will be ready at each stage…. so start dreaming!
The tours cover different distances featuring various degrees of difficulty, but thanks to the excellent technical assistance of SHIMANO everyone can master them. The International Bicycle Touring Week by the Sea as organized by the hotel owners of Gabicce Mare is the only one of its kind in Italy, as it includes a Road Police escort. The police protects and guides the cyclists with high security - in this way particpiants are granted a joyous, spectacular experience - a tradition that started with the first edition many years ago.
Stunning fireworks will welcome the friends of pedal power and they will be offered many occasions to party in the streets and the piazza with music and sea fish.

Saturday, April 7th 9.00 am Start of the bicycle touring group to Ca' Virginia Country House & Wellness Bike Hotel - San Giorgio di Montecalvo in Foglia (66 km round trip). Return to hotel at 12:45 pm.
Sunday, April 8th 9.00 am Start of the bicycle touring group to Petriano (70 km round trip). Return to hotel at 12:45 pm.
Monday, April 9th 8.30 am Start of the bicycle tour from Gabicce Mare to Fontecorniale di Montefelcino (79 km round trip). Return to hotel at 1:00 pm.
Tuesday, April 10th 9.00 am Start of the bicycle touring group to the "Corte della Miniera" Estate in Miniera (Urbino, 79 km round trip). Return to hotel at 1:00 pm.
Wednesday, April 11th 9.00 am Start of the bicycle touring group to Tavullia (46 km). Return to hotel at 12:00 am.
Thursday, April 12th 8.00 am Start of the bicycle touring group to the Furlo Nature Reserve (Acqualagna, 60 km) with refreshment.
11.00 am The group carries on to Serra Sant'Abbondio (30 km) with lunch.
Return at 3 pm by bus and bike transport with courtesy cars.
Friday, April 13th 8.30 am Start of the bicycle touring group to Borgo di Piagnano (Sassocorvaro, 116 km round trip). Return to hotel at 1.00 pm. 9.30 pm Award Ceremony with music show at the Cinema Theatre Astra in the Viale della Repubblica 20, Gabicce Mare.
Saturday, April 14th A day to relax or take a tour.
Sunday, April 15th Early morning bus to the airport, and return to Toronto.
