The International Bicycle Tour by the
Sea has been held in Gabicce Mare since 1981,
establishing it as one of Italy's most
important tourist events for cyclists.
The event is also a fixture on the calendar of
the International Bicycling Union.
Close to one thousand riders take part, accompanied by
family members and friends. The participants, hailing from all parts of Europe and
North America, meet each year to ride together on
the area's most charming roads, passing through
picturesque towns and villages of the
inland portion of the Marche and Romagna zones.
The event gets
underway with an
organized welcome in the evening, and it concludes with the presentation of awards to
the individual cycle-touring
associations.
